International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day
Today we celebrate the strength and individuality of women everywhere. This year, we honour the day by highlighting five inspiring women in their own work environments capturing the spaces that shape their routines, ambitions, and creativity.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you, and why do you think it’s important to celebrate women’s stories?
I think International Women’s Day is important to celebrate. The day highlights women’s rights, strengths, and achievements. There is still a need to fight for equality, as many women around the world continue to face inequality and discrimination. It is also a day to celebrate the struggles of previous generations while acknowledging the challenges women face today.
How would you describe your personal style, and what role does clothing play in your everyday life?
Fashion has always inspired me, both personally and in my work.
I would describe my style classic with silhouettes. Modern with a twist. Like to play with the masculine and feminine. Tailoring and street style. Clothing is my way of expressing confidence, strength, and who I am every day.
Why did you choose these styles from Second Female, and how do they fit into your daily life and work?
The blazer has always been my absolute favorite item in my wardrobe. It’s definitely my go-to piece because it can be styled in countless ways - at work, casually, or for a party. I also love wearing my outfits oversized, which adds comfort and a relaxed, modern feel to my style. Right now, I’m really loving the contrast of black and white, which adds a striking touch to my outfits.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you, and why do you think it’s important to celebrate women’s stories?
After becoming a mom to two girls, I truly see the importance of building these little ladies up with the confidence that they are worth just as much as anyone else. I hope to raise two girls with confidence, strength, and belief in themselves - knowing they can achieve whatever they dream of in life.
Is there a woman who has inspired you in your life or career?
Over the past six years, I’ve worked with strong female leaders who truly inspire me. I admire how they lead companies with more than 100 employees while still maintaining a sense of warmth and empathy. At LIEWOOD, we empower motherhood, embrace the everyday chaos, and celebrate the small moments that make childhood memorable. Being part of that journey inspires me every single day
Why did you choose these styles from Second Female, and how do they fit into your daily life and work?
I’ve always loved leather pants, and these shorts are the perfect addition to my growing leather collection. I’m really looking forward to styling this bomber jacket for the warmer days ahead. I love wearing a bomber instead of the classic blazer, which is usually my go-to - it adds a bit more edge while still feeling polished.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you, and why do you think it’s important to celebrate women’s stories?
To me, International Women’s Day is a reminder that strength doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it’s quiet, and sometimes it’s vulnerable. I’ve built my salons during periods where life also demanded a lot from me. That’s why I think it’s important to share women’s stories - they remind us that we’re not alone.
What do you do, and what do you enjoy most about your work?
I’m the founder of two hair salons, where I work both as a hairstylist and as a leader for my team. What I enjoy most is creating a space where women feel comfortable and leave with more confidence. It’s not just about hair - it’s about helping people feel stronger.
Why did you choose these styles from Second Female, and how do they fit into your daily life and work?
I chose these styles because they feel natural to wear, yet still elegant. They fit into my busy days in the salon, where I need to move freely while still feeling polished and professional. That balance is important to me.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you, and why do you think it’s important to celebrate women’s stories?
I grew up with strong women around me and have always been good at standing up for myself. Working as a self employed freelancer, I’ve learned to always fight for my rights and worth. It comes with the job and choice of being my own boss.
To me March 8th also is about celebrating womens stories, because they can inspire the change that we still need to continue to fight for - but we also need to celebrate brave and inspiring women who lead the way.
Is there a woman who has inspired you in your life or career?
I have quite a few female mentors that have meant a big deal in my career. Ofc my mom. Being the only girl among 3 brothers, she taught me to stand up for myself and never give up. My friend and designer Cecilie Nielsen in Norway, who I contacted when I was 12 years old because I wanted to become a fashion designer. And Nicci Welsh, who I started assisting 24 years ago when I knew nothing about makeup. She took me under her wings and told me I could do anything.
Why did you choose these styles from Second Female, and how do they fit into your daily life and work?
I chose the pink denim se with the bagge jeans and more fitted top, because its feminine fit and I love the bright colour. The dark blue overshirt is a great contrast, both in colour and fit.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you, and why do you think it’s important to celebrate women’s stories?
International Women’s Day, to me, is a moment to acknowledge how far women have come. Celebrating women’s stories is important because they remind us of the progress that has been made, while also highlighting that not everyone yet has the same opportunities. It’s a day to feel grateful for the possibilities many of us have today, while remembering that there is still work to be done in many parts of the world.
Is there a woman who has inspired you in your life or career?
Yes, without a doubt my sister. Despite the seven-year age gap between us, we have always shared a very close bond. She has influenced me in countless ways and helped shape the person I am today, both personally and professionally. She is my best friend, but also the one who challenges me, and she has taught me so much, especially the importance of standing up for myself, my values, and my opinions.
Why did you choose these styles from Second Female, and how do they fit into your daily life and work?
I chose the “Evie” trousers because they’re already a staple in my wardrobe. I own them in several colors, and they’re easy to mix and match with almost everything I wear. I chose the “Almine” shirt because it’s simple, comfortable, and versatile. It works just as well with tailored trousers for the office as it does with jeans for a more relaxed look, making it perfect for both office wear and casual outfits
The stories shared here remind us that progress is driven by real voices, lived experiences, and the courage to speak openly.
